Prayer was important to Jesus. In Luke 18:1-8 He told His disciples a story “to show them that they should always pray and not give up.” (Luke 18:1) I don’t think He was recommending endless repetition or painfully long prayer sessions. But I think He did mean that constant prayer means keeping our prayer requests continually before God as we live for Him day by day, believing He will answer.
The main prayer focus of the NAB Conference is Intercessor. This document is published monthly and contains three key ingredients:
1. A fascinating true story of a fellow NAB believer
2. A day-by-day listing of significant prayer requests
3. An update of what’s happening in our churches: conversions, home-goings, pastoral changes, etc.
It is through a prayer resource like Intercessor that the NAB Conference can always pray (together) and never give up! If you’d like to see the current month’s edition, go to the NAB website (www.nabconference.org) and click on the Intercessor box on the right hand side. There you will find a copy of current and previous editions.
If you are reading this, then you already are aware of the NAB website. But are you fully aware of the information and resources that it contains? The items on the brown and white menus at the top of every page link to items such as the following:
• The page titled About Us has links to Employment Opportunities; twenty-five are currently listed.
• About Us also has links to the entire NAB Church Directory.
• The Leadership page has motivational and inspirational posts, book studies, and local church leader resources.
• The Missions page makes available information about all NAB missionaries (bios and newsletters), NAB mission fields, and opportunities to serve (ten listed)
• The Resources page has links to a storehouse of information including Conference updates, application forms, constitution/by-laws, Chain of Love info, credentialing/ordination/licensure guidelines and certificates, and many other documents, brochures and policies
• Discussion is a place to register questions and to dialogue regarding churches, missions, the Conference, pastors and Regional Ministers.
• Affiliates has information on CEIF, Foundations, Heritage Commission, Hispanics for Christ, Taylor and Sioux Falls Seminaries, and others.
• Ministries will link you to Women’s Ministry and Youth Ministry
There is much more—and you can usually download and print off copies of the information for yourself or your church, including this weekly update!
