Dear NAB leaders, pastors, and friends,
I want to inform you of a significant transition on the Executive Team of the NAB International Office. Early this week, Tony Dunaway submitted his resignation as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the North American Baptist Conference. The effective date of his resignation is August 31, 2014.
As most of you know, Tony’s heart over the last number of years has been to leave the vocational role of accounting and transition into international humanitarian work with an evangelical organization. God’s leading in Tony’s life has prompted him over the years to have a real concern for those who are suffering. Even as the CFO at NAB, Tony spearheaded many of our disaster and relief projects, seeking to be personally aware and involved in how the church could come alongside hurting people. Though Tony has not accepted a specific position, he is in dialogue with a number of evangelical relief organizations and is wishing to pursue positions with those organizations more intentionally.
Tony has been with NAB for 10 years. I was on staff at the International Office in Oakbrook Terrace, IL, and became the Chief Operating Officer soon after Tony arrived following his time with NAB in Cameroon. He and I worked closely in “fixing” a number of financial and organizational issues in our early years at the International Office. He is a great servant for NAB and a much appreciated member of our NAB family.
In my discussing this transition with Tony, he wanted the entire NAB family to know that the International Office is in good financial condition, has a strong atmosphere of financial integrity, and has capable and effective support staff in the Ministry Support department that he oversees.
The NAB International Office in Roseville, CA, will begin a search process for the next CFO immediately. Please pray for that search process and for the staff of the International Office.
In God’s sovereign care,
Daniel J. Hamil
Executive Director (Interim)
