Florinda Serafin

National Missionary in Brazil serving in Church Planting ministry.

At the age of nine, Florinda was given by her family to a cloistered convent to become a nun.  She was quite satisfied as she thought she would get really close to God and get to know Him personally.

However, as the years passed, she became more and more disillusioned.  Yes, she was being educated, but she was also treated as a servant.  Eventually, Florinda was able to escape against the will of the convent by going through the back door of the kitchen.

Shortly after her escape, Florinda began to visit every church in the city until she could find peace with God.  In response to Herman Effa's invitation, Florinda went forward and Ardath Effa had the joy of leading her to the Lord.

Florinda became a real evangelist, leading her uncle, a doctor, and several nurses to Christ while she was in São Paulo hospital.  She was then able to lead her entire family to the Lord.  She also had a cousin in Bolivia who was a Mother Superior who heard about her conversion and requested she come and share with those in her convent.  She did this and saw her cousin and many others accept Christ.

Florinda has helped plant churches in various parts of Rio Grande do Sul state and continues to serve the Lord as an evangelist and church planter, raising up more leaders for the harvest in Brazil.
