Daryl & Loretta Martin

After high school he entered the work force.  During these years he was a part of two different NAB church plants.  He went to Bible School and eventually seminary.  While in seminary he had the opportunity to be part of a team showing the JESUS film in Cameroon, West Africa.  This led him to return three more times to Cameroon to work with the Cameroon church leaders in setting up a discipleship program for those who received Christ as their personal Saviour from watching the JESUS film.

 

When his term concluded in 1995 he was asked by NAB leadership to be the Associate Director of International Missions in Chicago.  After a short courtship he married Loretta Schnell.  In summer of 2004 the Martins moved back to Canada.  Soon Daryl became the pastor of his boyhood church in Golden Prairie, SK.

 

Loretta's path to Christ began when life’s troubles became overwhelming to bear.  In searching for God, her sister suggested she start by reading the Bible.  She was in this process, and pregnant, when her husband died suddenly.  That life-changing event quickened her search for answers to life’s purposes and if people go to heaven when they die.

 

When Loretta went into labor with their third child, God placed her into a hospital room with a Christian.  The woman shared her testimony and invited Loretta to a ladies’ Bible study.  Loretta absorbed all that was taught and started attending Faith Baptist Church shortly thereafter.  It didn’t take too long until she knelt in prayer, asking Jesus to be Lord of her life.  That prayer was the start of a life dedicated to God in appreciation for God’s love for her and in obedience serving Him.

 

Daryl serves as director of the Russia Bible School.
