Amber has a passion for serving the Lord. Amber is a young lady with a heart for Japan. She has demonstrated a love for the culture, the food, the language and the people – all from her home in Northern California.
When NAB missionaries Ron and Joan Stoller visited in her home, she had that unmistakable sense that the Lord was at work – calling her to explore serving in Christ’s name in Japan.
Amber is a graduate of California State University in Sacramento with a Bachelor’s degree in English. As part of her electives she has chosen to study the Japanese language and already has a basic working knowledge of conversational Japanese. These two skill sets make her a great candidate to serve in one of our most productive contacting ministries in Japan, teaching English classes. These English classes give missionaries opportunities to develop relationships with the Japanese people, and to lead Bible studies using English scripture.
Amber serves on the youth staff at Impact Community Church, Sacramento, CA as well as the worship team and also continues to serve as an Awana leader at Vintage Park Community Church and as summer staff at Hume Lake Christian Camps. Amber has been a Campus Life Ministries Leader and even toured with the Continental Singers in 2004.
On October 14, 2009 Amber Carpenter accepted her appointment as a Defined Term Missionary to Japan for a period of two years.
Amber arrived in Japan on Nov 2, 2010.
