Job Description:

The Vice President of Ministry Advancement organizes and directs all development and communications programs to maximize fundraising and communication effectiveness throughout the Conference.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s  degree required with advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of successful fundraising and communication activity
  • Proficiency in written and public communication
  • Knowledge of charitable policies and practices in United States and Canada
  • Knowledge of major gifts, campaigns, and gift planning
  • Knowledge of how a denominational organization functions
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50%, with some international travel
  • Progressive experience with supervising staff
  • Experience working on an executive level organizational team
  • Willingness to be an active member of a local NAB church

Qualifications Desired:

  • CFRE designation is desired but not required

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and implement a strategic plan for NAB fundraising such as annual funds, special campaigns, missionary funding, etc.
  • Build and establish relationships with major donors including cultivating and soliciting funds as needed
  • Oversee the development of public relations materials to enhance the Conference image and promote fundraising programs
  • Compose marketing and informational pieces including newsletter articles, blogs, prayer letters/calendars, board communication, electronic postings on website, Facebook, and Twitter
  • Edit and proofread written and electronic materials
  • Oversee the writing, production, and direction of marketing videos and communications
  • Manage the development and usage of all electronic communication (website, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Lead and evaluate advancement staff, set goals, and review and communicate to staff clear performance expectations
  • Develop and maintain budget for financial oversight of advancement department
  • Establish advancement policies, systems, and procedures to ensure alignment with the mission and strategy of the Conference
  • Oversee gift acknowledgement and pledge systems as part of overall donor relations
  • Collaborate with partner agencies, including NAB Foundation, Seminaries, CEIF, regional associations, and local churches
  • Participate as a member of the Executive Leadership Team
  • Lead other internal or advisory teams as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned  by the Executive Director
