Job Description:

Rowandale Baptist Church is a North American Baptist Church, with an average attendance of 220, seeking a Full-time Youth Pastor to begin ministry as soon as possible.

:

·        To provide leadership and direction for the present Junior High, Senior High and College and Career programs, equipping and enabling them in the areas of Discipleship and Outreach

·        To work with and mentor adult leaders who serve as teachers and mentors to youth

·        To plan and organize outreach and ministry opportunities for the youth both inside and outside the church

·        To teach the youth class on Sundays and/or oversee those presently teaching the class

·        To develop leadership in the youth, equipping and enabling them for ministry both inside and outside the church

·        To set ministry goals along with the other pastors and work cooperatively with them to achieve such goals

·        To communicate with and build relationships with the parents of our youth

·        To assist with platform duties during Sunday morning worship services as required

Personal Qualifications:

·        Completion of Bible School degree at Bachelor’s level or higher

·        Enthusiasm, sincerity and an ability to communicate and interact with youth

·        Knowledge in the Scriptures and possessing a desire for spiritual growth in self and others

·        A willingness to listen to others, to learn and show flexibility as the situation demands it and develop youth programs over an extended period of time

Job Description:

This position will provide leadership to the ministry of Camp Caroline. In agreement with Camp Caroline’s Vision, Mission and Values, the Executive Director will effectively lead and manage the camp’s operation in a manner consistent with these priorities. The Executive Director will oversee the camp through visionary spiritual leadership and will oversee, and be accountable for, all aspects of the Camp ministry. Qualifications & Experience
The following are the minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the duties of
Executive Director:
• Personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a desire to grow as a follower, and evidence of a
growing relationship with God
• Sense of calling to work in a camping ministry
• Accept, without reservation, the North American Baptist Conference Statement of Belief
• A Bachelor Degree in a related field is considered an asset, but commensurate experience
will be considered
• Demonstrated experience in leadership, management, and financial responsibility in
progressively senior roles preferably in a camp environment
• Decisive leadership skills—a good listener, ability to inspire, empower and motivate a team
• Strong oral and written English communication skills and competent relational skills
• Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); knowledge and experience
with Simply Accounting.
• Excellent organizational and management skills
• Able to multi-task—hands-on, readily capable of switching between being a business
professional and being responsive to immediate operational needs
 
Other Requirements
• Flexibility and willingness to work irregular and extended hours as required
Note: Work week hours will vary based on the time of year. The Executive Director will often
work evenings and weekends to accommodate activities such as seasonal schedules, board
meetings, and representing the organization at public events.
• During the summer camp season, (late June to September) the ED may be expected to work
six days a week, with one mid-week day of rest.
• Ability to travel to represent and promote Camp Caroline within the Alberta Baptist
Association, as well as other churches.

The Senior Pastor of Pineland Baptist Church will fulfill the following duties in partnership with, and being responsible to, the Board of Elders. In addition to following the directives below, he shall maintain a Godly lifestyle, setting an example in all things both in faith and in life (1 Timothy 4:11-16). He shall lead his family diligently, seeking to first shepherd them spiritually before shepherding the church family. Preaching and Teaching
- Be the primary preacher in Sunday services giving due time, thought, prayer, and study to the Word of God in preparation for the messages
- Schedule service themes throughout the year working with the Music Director to shape the services
- Schedule other Pastoral staff for occasional preaching and guest preachers as required
- Oversee the teaching of God’s Word in the church programs and studies, participating as appropriate, with the various study groups, classes, and age groups

Administration
- Oversee the ministry of the Pastoral staff of Pineland Baptist Church, meeting with them regularly for calendar co-ordination, planning of services and church events, assignments and accountability
- Oversee the office staff
- Work with the Pastors and Elders in the oversight of the church ministries
- Oversee the recruitment and training of future leaders
- Give leadership in the search for and hiring of additional staff as required
- Give oversight to the ordinances of baptism and communion services

Spiritual Care
- Oversee and participate in the visitation of the church members, visitors to the church services, the sick, the shut-ins, and others in the community as opportunities arise
- Pray for the church family and ministries, as well as those we are trying to reach
- Lead the church family in times of prayer and in teaching them the priority and practice of prayer
- Provide or refer spiritual counsel to those in need of direction and assistance

Other Duties
