Hawkwood Baptist Church is seeking a born-again, baptized believer that possesses a clear and evident life testimony that reflects a significant and ongoing pursuit of Christ likeness. This individual will work with a team of volunteers to oversee all aspects of the Children's ministry. These responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

-  Sunday School (pre-school to Grade 6)

-  Children's Church (pre-school to Grade 6)

-  Children's mid-week programming

-  Seasonal programming for children which includes, but will not be limited to, Christmas Program, Vacation Bible School and other summer programming

-  will be responsible for establishing and administrating an annual budget for the above-listed areas

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

Specialized training in children's ministry is preferred, but not necessary. Applicant must show an aptitude and enthusiasm for working with children, and must be willing to pursue training in the field.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, the applicant must be a convinced Evangelical, able to teach and support the Baptist interpretation of Scripture, specifically the interpretation of Scripture upheld by the HBC Statement of Faith. The applicant must be a member or be willing to become a member of Hawkwood Baptist Church.

This position is a part-time, up to 30 hour/week, hourly position.  Hours are flexible and negotiable. Wage will be based upon experience and education of applicant.

Job Description:

This position will provide leadership to the ministry of Camp Caroline. In agreement with Camp Caroline’s Vision, Mission and Values, the Executive Director will effectively lead and manage the camp’s operation in a manner consistent with these priorities. The Executive Director will oversee the camp through visionary spiritual leadership and will oversee, and be accountable for, all aspects of the Camp ministry. These will include providing strong leadership, building strong public relations, and executing excellent program, property, facility, operations, administrative, financial and marketing management.

Qualifications & Experience
The following are the minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the duties of
Executive Director:
• Personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a desire to grow as a follower, and evidence of a
growing relationship with God
• Sense of calling to work in a camping ministry
• Accept, without reservation, the North American Baptist Conference Statement of Belief
• A Bachelor Degree in a related field is considered an asset, but commensurate experience
will be considered
• Demonstrated experience in leadership, management, and financial responsibility in
progressively senior roles preferably in a camp environment
• Decisive leadership skills—a good listener, ability to inspire, empower and motivate a team
• Strong oral and written English communication skills and competent relational skills
• Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); knowledge and experience
with Simply Accounting.
• Excellent organizational and management skills
• Able to multi-task—hands-on, readily capable of switching between being a business
professional and being responsive to immediate operational needs
 
Other Requirements
• Flexibility and willingness to work irregular and extended hours as required
Note: Work week hours will vary based on the time of year. The Executive Director will often
work evenings and weekends to accommodate activities such as seasonal schedules, board
meetings, and representing the organization at public events.
• During the summer camp season, (late June to September) the ED may be expected to work
six days a week, with one mid-week day of rest.
• Ability to travel to represent and promote Camp Caroline within the Alberta Baptist
Association, as well as other churches.
